Dutch Beginners
Date
There are courses for Dutch Beginners in January and September online or offline at Het Studiecentrum in Bergen. Find a map in the footer of this site. Please call us for any information about this course. Groups from 4 to 7 students, online 4 students is the maximum.
Content
The focus of the lessons is mainly on speaking. Much attention is paid to pronunciation and sentence structure. This cannot be done without some explanation of basic grammar and a basic vocabulary. With the help of the Dutch method, you will gradually acquire the skill to speak Dutch.
Aim
You can talk about familiar topics in simple sentences. You can use the usual phrases for greetings. You can express your wishes when shopping or at work in simple sentences. You can tell something about yourself and your family.

Pronunciation, spelling, greetings, introducing oneself, shopping, family, numbers, time, colours.

Twenty-four lessons cost € 450,- (books not included). Thirty lessons (€ 570,- depending on starting dates)
Dutch Intermediate (ERK A2)
Date
There are two groups you can join: advanced beginners (A1.1) or advanced (A2). If you want to join us please call us!
Content
The lessons focus on speaking and grammar. When necessary extra grammar will be dealt with. The course builds on the knowledge acquired in previous courses. Topics are, among others work, family, free time, hobbies and culture.
Aim
You can have conversations about simple topics or activities such as asking for information, talking to colleagues and saying what you want or don’t want in shops. You can tell what you are going to do or have already done.

Work, hobbies, free time, family, making telephone calls and writing simple e-mails among others.

Dutch Advanced (ERK B1/B2)
Content
At this level the course language will be Dutch most of the time. Your vocabulary will structurally be enlarged supporting your fluency. Grammar will only be dealt with when necessary.
Aim
You will learn how to express yourself unprepared. You can participate in conversations about ordinary and familiar subjects and you can keep it going yourself. Key words for this level: relatively independent and spontaneous.
Topics
Work, free time, hobbies, travelling, news, Holland and the Dutch, having a simple discussion in which you can point out your view and support it.

The teacher determines which books will be used.
Dutch Proficient (ERK C1/C2)
Content
At this level the course language will be Dutch most of the time. Your vocabulary will structurally be enlarged supporting your fluency. Grammar will only be dealt with when necessary.

You will learn how to express yourself unprepared. You can participate in conversations about ordinary and familiar subjects and you can keep it going yourself. Key words for this level: relatively independent and spontaneous.

Dutch Cultural Programme
Culture: This is Holland
This course consists of 5 lessons in which several aspects of the Dutch society and culture are discussed.
Topics for this course are habits and traditions, national festivities, religion and food.
